About Masters Degree Program
Advances in information technology (IT) have created a revolution
in how business transactions are carried out. Digital Business,
the use of technology to conduct business, has brought rapid change
to how people, institutions, businesses, and nations conduct trade
and business. In addition, these technologies are profoundly affecting
the way we think about markets, products, payments and financial
transactions, intellectual property, copyright law, public policy,
and tax policy. Therefore, to fully develop the potential of these
technologies, it is essential to have a solid understanding of technological
as well as managerial issues germane to digital business.
The purpose of the Master of Science (MS) program in Information
Technology Management is to prepare a new generation of business
leaders, managers and specialists in the dynamic and ever-changing
landscape of business. The graduates of this program will be ready
to take on challenging positions in business, government, and other
institutions and to act as catalysts of change.
The goals of this program are to provide graduates with: A solid
technical skill set in IT. A clear understanding of the strategic
issues and emerging business models. An ability to diagnose business
opportunities and guide organizational change. Familiarity with
the security, privacy, ethical and legal issues in the conduct of
electronic business. Hands-on experience in successfully completing
a project in IT and business.
